WABI TV 5 (December 2001) - After deciding he no longer wanted to become a doctor, Chas dropped out of the University of Colorado at Boulder where he had been studying Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology in the fall of 2001. He knew he wanted to work in entertainment, but was not sure where to start. After moving back to his home town of Bangor, Maine, Chas enrolled at the University of Maine at Orono where he studied New Media (the closest thing to a film program UMO offered at the time). While in school at UMO, Chas worked to pay off the debt from the UCB. He got a job at a local news station. His first gig in television was as a Camera Operator, Teleprompter and Editor at WABI TV 5 News (CBS affiliate) in Bangor, Maine from December 2001 to August 2002.
